Inclusion Policy for Annapolis Valley Connect.ca

Annapolis Valley Connect.ca collects, maintains and disseminates services available to residents of West Hants, Kings, and Annapolis County. Included are services that provide basic information on community recreation opportunities.

“Recreation” is defined as the experience that results from freely chosen participation in physical, social, intellectual, creative, and spiritual pursuits that enhance individual and community wellbeing.

Inclusion in the database of recreation opportunities listed on the Website is free and is not dependent upon the purchase of a membership, products, or separate advertising space from Annapolis Valley Connect.ca.

The database includes organizations or programs primarily located in or serving the area that:

  • Provide recreation opportunities to the public.
  • Are networks or coalitions of recreation providers.
  • Are not-for-profit, community-based or government organizations.
  • Are commercial organizations that provide recreation opportunities.
  • Offer opportunities for the general public to volunteer.

Geographic Scope

Annapolis Valley Connect.ca is a cooperative project of the Valley Recreation Coordinators’/Directors’ Association (VRCDA). Municipal funding partners include the County of Annapolis, Town of Annapolis Royal, County of Kings, Village of Kingston, Town of Berwick, Town of Kentville, Village of New Minas, Village of Canning, District of West Hants, and the Town of Windsor.

Information from non-participating municipal units is not eligible to be included in Annapolis Valley Connect.ca. Please contact your local Recreation Department for more information.



Although Annapolis Valley Connect.ca does not routinely monitor the quality of the services listed, we will respond to issues/concerns raised, and reserve the right to refuse to list or to discontinue listings for organizations that:

  • Offer or provide services which are unlawful.
  • Misrepresent, by omission or commission, pertinent facts regarding their services, organizational structure, or any other pertinent matter, in any way.
  • Fail to respond to requests to update information.
  • Promote alcohol consumption or gambling as a focus of activity.

Decisions to include, exclude, or remove a service listing may be appealed, in writing, to the Chair of the Annapolis Valley Connect.ca Management Group.
